Rick Janowski has created many formulas relevant to backgammon. In this article we will look at the Janowski take point formula for money play. You probably wouldn't find it directly useful over the board, but Snowie does. Janowski's take point formula is useful for converting cubeless estimates of gammon and normal wins to estimates of cubeful equity, hence it helps to understand rollouts from backgammon programs and the gammon price. As we work toward Janowski's take point formula, we will see the continuous limit model of backgammon and cube liveliness
