A few months ago, we looked at Janowski's take point formula. This is one of the components of the algorithm some bots use to convert a distribution of backgammon, gammon, and ordinary wins and losses to an equity with the cube in play. In this article, we will consider Janowski's formulas for cubeful equity when not too good to redouble and the redoubling point.



Warning: As a mathematician, I find the material in this article tough, and it is not directly applicable over the board. If you aren't sure you want to know how sausage is made, then as a first pass you might just look at the sample positions, the commentary on position 3, the "surprising note," and the summary
