2nd Nice Casino Ruhl Backgammon Open

Worldwide Backgammon Federation General Secretary Marco Fornasir reports the results of the 2nd Nice Casino Ruhl Backgammon Open, held from September 5 to September 7, 2008, at the Le Ruhl Casino Barrière de Nice in France.

NICE, France - Only 30 backgammon players participated in this tournament. This small turnout was due at first to a change of tournament dates (initially scheduled for the first week-end of July, 2008) and then made worse by the very short time available to promote the tournament (only the month of August). All of these changes combined to kill a good promotion of the tournament and the results were noticeable.

The next 3rd Nice Casino Ruhl Backgammon Open of 2009 can to be a big success BUT MUST to be announced VERY EARLY. Unfortunately the 2nd Nice Casino Ruhl Backgammon Open 2008 was announced too late and this one is the main reason of this scarce numbers of players.
