Shovelling the Snowie

Even though I have had my new computer for several months I haven't caught up with my filing. Arrangements that made sense in 2006 (when I bought my previous PC), or in 2003 when Perry Gartner gifted me with my first laptop, and shipped me off to China, or even ... Frankly, I have lost track of when I began sorting and categorizing some of the files that have followed me around the world. And it is painfully obvious I lost track of sorting and categorizing many of them at all. I have a "working folder" with thousands of files that were simply dumped there just in case I needed them.

Hi Timothy:

The smallest error for the second place play in any of the problems was 3.6%. The worst was nearly ten times that. I picked these because there were no really close second choices.

Best,

Jake

Leverman got it right over the board when it came up in our match. It's a shame he (and Dirk) are no longer active.

Hi Jerry:

I switched to Chang; elephants trump lions after all.

Actually here in Singapore I favor some of your old country home brews: Amsterdam Maximator, Baron's Extra Strong, and Damburger. For some reason that last is only available at shops in Thai Town.

Which Japan tournament? I'll miss the one in May; I'll be in Tokyo a week or two before it, then in the US the week after. The Japan Open is in the fall, though I am not sure which events I can enter as the calendar shows it starting on October 8th, and I am attending a wedding that day.

Best,

Jake
