We are back on track!
Last year the Thai Open came close to becoming the Thai Closed.
After the dates were moved up a week, the venue changed, and the director becoming the indirector, it was saved only by the last-minute heroics of Gerhard Schulze, who stepped in and salvaged what he could.
This year a new director, Joe Somchai took the helm.
The venue changed, but for the better.
Somboon’s restaurant has been a fine home for backgammon in Pattaya over the years, but the swimming pool and clubhouse at the new View Talay Villa complex was a definite upgrade.

Interesting position. Curiously, I used to play 6/1 until taught by the bots that 7/2 is often correct in this sort of position. I would have played 7/2 here. I guess the truth is, "it's complicated."
Timothy,
The 7/2 play wins about 3% more gammons and would be right if gammons mattered but Jake got it right at DMP by 0.02%. Cruel game.
