Mary Hickey reports on the 2012 World Backgammon Tournament of Champions Invitational held in Chicago, Illinois on May 24 through May 28, 2012.

Rory Pascar has done it again--run an event nobody ever tried before, and made it an outstanding success. For his "World Backgammon Tournament of Champions Invitational", the way to qualify for an invitation was to win an Open, Championship or Masters level tournament anywhere in the world sometime between the tournament itself and January 2009. Alternatively, one could be listed in the "Giant 32" for either 2009 or 2011.
