Phil Simborg is the author of many articles, including several published on GammonVillage: Will Tournament Backgammon Survive?, Fifteen Ways to Irritate Your Opponent, and Why You Should Never Complain About the Dice. He describes himself as a pretty good player from Chicago who makes some real blunders...here's one he didn't make.
Very simple, there are two choices, hit or don't hit.
There was quite an argument about this over the board at the chou today, and it turns out that Michael Ginat (spelling corrected) made the right play.
(I agreed with him, by the way, so chalk this up to one that I got right for a change.)
So, do you hit or not?
Money game, black to play 4-1.

Excellent problem. Most wouldn't look ahead to see that many 2's on the next roll would leave 2 blots if you don't hit. Thanks, Greg
