Backgammon Dilemmas With 2 Away 2 Away
by Bart Brooks
25 February 2008 Back to BROOKS ON BACKGAMMON

Should we always double right away when on roll at 2 away 2 away? When should we take or drop?

I don't get to many tournaments, but my last was Denver of last year. They wanted someone to fill the complete bracket for the $20 Quickies, being 2 point matches. I normally don't play these but as I was no longer in anything else I said "sure." I wasn't even originally aware that I was number 128, the last to enter. A nice thing was that as the whole tournament was winding down the matches were pretty much one after the other.

Two circumstances arose from this experience and I thought I would share them with you.
