From time to time I like to highlight a particular player by showing a variety of interesting positions from a tournament match we competed in.
This month we will take another look at Kit Woolsey as I drew him in the first round of the Super Jackpot in Las Vegas.
Kit is no doubt one of the finest players in the world and it was to my surprise that voters in the "Giants of Backgammon" saw fit to place me ahead of him by one spot.
I dropped from 6th to 7th and noted to friends that at that rate, in 50 years I'd be off the list altogether. Kit dropped from 5th to 8th but there is no shame in still being voted in the top ten.
We'll now take a look at some of the more interesting positions of the match as we begin with "Kit 1". Kit makes an rare blunder in dropping a cube which was a fairly easy take and only a marginal double.
