GammonVillage correspondent Achim Mueller reports from Day 3 at the 2008 World Championships of Backgammon, being held at the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Achim isn't just reporting on the event, he is also competing for the Championship and has continued his advance
to Round 6 (16 players) of the Main Tournament Flight. Keep on rolling Achim!


MONTE CARLO, Monaco - Round 4 and Round 5 were played yesterday, but even at 3 AM this morning the 16th player to enter Round 6 isn't known yet.

In my opinion the biggest favourites are Michy and Royset,followed by Trabolt,Nielsen and ED

WOW! just got a chance to see how Monte Carlo was doing. GV you are the best. The ladders to chase all the players and the great reporting by Achim and the picts + videos. I know both Mario and Lars and am very happy to wish them a great finals match. ___________patrick
