I began writing about backgammon in 1982, working for Mike Maxakuli as editor for two of his magazines. They quickly folded (edited those suckers right into the ground!) and it was seven years before I again took up my pen. One of the first columns I wrote during this second phase was a holiday story based upon Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The ghosts, Tiny Tim, and some of the other characters were doubly (backgammon pun!) familiar because in my version they were inspired by my backgammon playing friends.
The holiday season has come around again, and my friends are on my mind. Here is a holiday tale based upon the "other" most famous Christmas story.
