The name US Open was waiting to be scooped up, waiting since 1998, so it was past time when Chiva Tafazzoli did the honors last year and held the first US Open of the 21st Century on the East Coast. This year he moved it to San Francisco; next year the US Open moves, to a new month (January) and to a new state (Florida), but a year from now, in May, 2011, he will direct another tournament in the City by the Bay-ckgammon Board.
