On January 17th, 2011 Mary Hickey completed one of the most unlikely "three-peats" in backgammon history, completing a trilogy of female domination at the U.S. Open backgammon championships over the past three years. Following Carol Joy Cole's win in 2009 in Washington D.C., Mary won her first U.S. Open title in San Francisco last May and bolstered her status as a future "Giant of Backgammon" by winning her second consecutive title in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
