Winning the Giants of Backgammon Invitational - Part Two

After edging Neil Kazaross two matches to one, I reached the semi-finals of the first "Giants of Backgammon Invitational" where I would face off against Maryland math instructor Bob Koca. Bob has risen among the "Giants" rapidly as he came from outside the top 250 in 2007 to 29th in 2009.

Bob's nickname is "UBK" as he is known as "Unflappable Bob Koca". If you play him or watch him play you will notice that nothing rattles him. He just methodically marches through draw sheets towards victory as he did in Europe in the summer of 2008 and again in Santa Fe in January of 2011.

To reach the semi-finals, Bob defeated Matt Cohn Geier (aka known by a three letter moniker "MCG") in the first round and perennial "Giant" Kit Woolsey in the second round.
