With "Giant #1" (Gold) Mochy home in Japan greeting his first son (congratulations Mochy), the #2 (Silver) and #3 (Bronze) "Giants of Backgammon" Falafel and Neil Kazaross attended the California State Backgammon Championship in early December 2011 and wouldn't you know it, in the jackpot event (the Super 48), they met in the finals.

In the semi-finals Falafel defeated 1989 World Champion Joe Russell and Neil Kazaross defeated two time Vegas Super Jackpot finalist Justin Nunez. That would set up a classic final match between two of the brightest stars the game has to offer.
