When you have 1 checker behind your opponent's 5 prime and he has a checker on the bar, there are several additional features of the position that contribute to making the correct cube decisions.
It is important to know the precise value of any change from a basic reference position. Improving our understanding of the relative values of different variables may improve both checker play and cube action.
