Not much of an introduction this month, what do you do in the problem below? Take a minute to come to a decision before reading on. There has been a fair amount of discussion on a certain set of backgammon forums that I frequent about adjusting your play according to the skill difference in opposition. This in itself is a very interesting topic but there are also other types of positions where even if you're playing an equally skilled opponent you should be adjusting your play from what the bot reports to you. The positions below introduce some simple concepts to keep in mind when you're looking to make the decision based more on than just what the bot would tell you.
