LA Stands For Late Analysis

Actually the analysis isn't all that late. The LA tournament was last month (as I write this), but since then there have been major tournaments including Michigan, the World Championships, and Cannes. By the time you read this you'll be playing in Madison (won't you?), and booking your flight to the Japan Open. Luckily, backgammon positions never expire, though I've seen a few that were bleeding by the time the player got through with them. I was lucky enough to have two matches recorded while in LA. Gary Bauer and Malcolm Davis travel with cameras, and captured the matches. Gary seems to have lost my email address, as he hasn't sent me a copy, but I did jot down an interesting sequence.

That isn't Gary, it is Jeremy Bagai, but Jeremy is showing us how to enjoy a backgammon tournament in this picture, so pin it to your wall as a good example.
