Winning the Vietor Cup (Again!)

In September 2006 I won the Vietor Cup by going a perfect 8-0 but in the six years that followed I failed to do any better than a tie for third place.

Would 2013 be any different? Only time would tell and when the opening bell rang I would draw Orange County Backgammon Club director Justin Nunez. Justin is also a fine player and has been voted "Giant of Backgammon #61".

After trading double drops with the nine-point match tied 1-1 and the cube at four on my side, I had to decide whether or not to double Justin to eight for the match.

One element that can be a determining factor is how often you win a gammon compared to your opponent, but another factor concerns market losing sequences.
