Sometime in the previous millennium I shared a room with Phil Simborg. I was a night owl, yet when I turned in at two or three Phil would be logged onto some web site playing backgammon and typing a stream of messages. I'd wake at the crack of noon and he'd be gone, up since dawn. The man was and is indefatigable. If you are on Phil's mailing list you receive PowerPoint, or lately Vimeo, presentations of positions he has encountered in his latest sessions, and organized to share with his friends. They are random and eclectic having in common only the fact that someone in the game found them challenging.
Today's quiz is a selection of positions taken from Phil's offerings, not quite random as they were ones I agreed were interesting. If you do well you should consider moving to Chicago and joining the chouette; you will make some money. Then again, if you don't do well you should consider moving to Chicago and joining the chouette; you'll learn something.
